Giclee Printing

Creative Workshop's prints are produced to the exacting standards of The Fine Art Trade Guild.

Our Epson professional printer is amazing!  Its ten UltraChrome HDR pigment inks offer an expanded colour gamut and smoother tones and gradations. The printer sets new standards in professional fine art printing and Artists can now enjoy the best results possible.

The word Giclée refers to the process by which digital images are printed onto archive fine art paper or canvas. In practice the final result can only be as good as the original. This could be a high resolution digital image of a painting or a scan of a large format transparency, both of which we can produce in our studio. Artists can also email us their own images and we can offer advice on photographing paintings if required.

After capture the test print is matched to the original which involves colour profiling and proofing. Once agreed with the artist, a print is kept on file at our studio for reference. This ensures that identical prints can be ordered in small quantities many years after the original has been sold.

Our prints are virtually identical to the originals and the manufacturers tell us that, when using the latest pigment inks, they are resistant to fading for over 100 years! Most of the paper we use is pure cotton rag, which is acid free and an annually renewable crop, harvested without damage to the environment.
